Elizabeth's grandmother introduced her to the world of creative expression at a very young age. She would spend summers with her grandparents traveling the California coast in their Winnebago. They would frequent thrift shops looking for jewelry with interesting components to disassemble and incorporate into new designs. Her sense of beauty, diversity and quirkiness shape the color and texture of her jewelry. Her deep originality is what makes her designs stand out. Each piece is unique, with a personality and life of its own.
Elizabeth travels to many exotic places such as Indonesia, Thailand, China, Japan, Paris, and Bermuda that inspire her creativity and offer unique components for her wide array of designs. Inspiration can strike at any moment. It is not uncommon to find napkins, receipts and pieces of paper with design sketches scattered around her home, car and in her purse. This starts the quest for the perfect components that will complete each vision. Some designs call for Elizabeth’s self-taught metal work skills. From a sterling silver centerpiece to hammered copper links, each handcrafted component is one-of-a-kind and made by Elizabeth.
Artisan lampwork beads play a major role in Elizabeth's designs. She became intrigued with this medium in 1999 and took her first class that year. A lampwork studio is currently under construction, which will give her greater control over each new jewelry design and add to the uniqueness of each piece.
Elizabeth currently resides in Houston, TX with her husband Mike and their four-legged children. She met Mike in 2000 and they married in Hawaii at a private garden ceremony March 2006. Her creativity extends beyond the jewelry craft into other fields such as baking, sewing, cards and scrapbooking.
